Common Questions
Things families usually ask before getting started.
What exactly does a companion do during a daytime session?
A companion shares time with your relative at home — conversation, a walk in the garden, help with a hobby, reading together, or simply being present over a shared meal. The activities are shaped by what your relative enjoys and feels comfortable with.
Do I need to commit to a full month straight away?
We begin with a planning conversation and a written outline before anything is confirmed. The Daytime Companionship and Social Engagement programmes are arranged on a monthly basis, but we are happy to discuss a shorter introductory period for families who want to try before committing further.
How will I know what happened each day?
For daytime sessions, we send a brief end-of-day note to the family — what was done, any observations worth sharing, and how your relative seemed that day. The Social Engagement Programme also includes a monthly summary. You can always reach us by phone or message during our hours.
What does the Family Coordination service involve in practice?
We sit down with the family — usually a short meeting or call — to understand the household situation. We then put together a written support plan, a shared timeline for family members, and a list of relevant local resources such as community programmes, welfare offices, and voluntary organisations in Negeri Sembilan.
Is Teratai able to assist with personal or nursing care?
Our programmes cover companionship, social coordination, household conversation, and family information support. We do not provide nursing, personal care, or any regulated personal assistance. If a family needs those services alongside ours, we can suggest appropriate organisations in the area.
How do outings work in the Social Engagement Programme?
Each month we prepare an activity calendar based on what your relative enjoys and what is happening locally. A companion accompanies them to each outing. We cover community events, light recreational trips, and social gatherings in and around Seremban. All activities are agreed with the family in advance.
How is the pricing structured?
The Family Coordination service is a one-time arrangement at RM 620. The Social Engagement Programme is RM 1,950 per month. The Daytime Companionship Programme is RM 4,500 per month. All pricing is in Malaysian Ringgit with no hidden charges. We discuss everything clearly before any agreement is made.
